Whilst it is fair to say that The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is unnecessarily being promoted by some service organisation as ‘Project Fear’ it does have ‘real’ consequences from what is a growing Information Security threat and data protection exposure.

The penalties for a breach have brought this to the forefront of every businesses mind, fines for up to 4% of global turnover, or 20 million euros. Newly introduced requirements surrounding unambiguous consent and the right to erasure means that organisations need to start considering how they will be able to manage and store their data moving forward.
